Maybe your wedding day doesn’t need a big timeline, a packed guest list, or a schedule that runs from morning until midnight.

Maybe it just needs the two of you, somewhere beautiful,
doing something that actually feels like you.

That’s the beauty of an elopement.

However it looks, the best elopements all have one thing in common: They feel real.
And that’s exactly what I’m there to capture.

Elopement videography

Choosing to elope usually means you’re doing things your own way.

You’re not planning a wedding because you feel like you should.
You’re creating a day that actually feels meaningful to you.

Something slower.
More personal.
More intentional.

The kind of day where you have space to take it all in. The quiet moments. The laughter. The nerves before the vows. The feeling of “I can’t believe this is real life.”

As a Dutch elopement videographer who travels all over the world, these are the kinds of days I love being part of.

MY APPROACH

A calm presence, not a production.

If the idea of cameras everywhere makes you a little nervous, you’re not alone.

Most couples I work with tell me the same thing: they want their elopement to feel relaxed and natural, not like they’re performing for a camera.

Good news. That’s exactly how I approach filming.

No big productions.
No awkward posing.
No constant directing.

I blend in, paying attention to the little moments unfolding around you. Sometimes cheering you on, sometimes calming the nerves, and often quietly capturing what’s happening without anyone even noticing.

That way, you can focus on being fully present.

Your elopement videographer, professional chameleon & calming energy

Over the years I’ve learned how to adapt to every kind of environment. I blend in easily, move naturally with the flow of the day, and focus on capturing the moments you might not even realize are happening.

If you’re curious about how I ended up doing this and why I care so much about those little moments, you can read a bit more about me here.

“We never imagined it could feel this natural. Ellen made us feel completely at ease, and we also just had a really fun time together. We’re so glad we chose her, it’s a memory we’ll treasure forever.”

FAQ | Elopement Film Questions

What does a Dutch elopement videographer cost?

Elopement videography prices usually depend on location, hours of coverage, and travel. My elopement coverage starts at €2,950, which includes 6 constructive hours of filming, audio, editing, and a dynamic film that lets you relive the day exactly as it felt.

How many hours do we need for an elopement film?

Elopement coverage starts at 6 constructive hours. This is usually the minimum needed to capture the key moments of your day, like getting ready, your ceremony, and time together in the landscape you chose.

That said, elopements rarely follow a traditional timeline. Some couples plan a sunrise ceremony, a sunset hike, or even a multi-day adventure. Because of that, coverage can easily be extended to fit your plans.

I’m flexible, and we’ll shape the timeline around the experience you want to create.

Do we need to be comfortable on camera?

Not at all. Most couples I work with say the same thing beforehand: they’re a little nervous about being filmed. But because my approach is very natural and unobtrusive, most people forget the camera is even there.

Do you travel for elopements?

Yes. Absolutely. Travel is actually a huge part of why I love filming elopements and I regularly travel for couples who want to get married somewhere meaningful to them.

When it comes to my transportation and accommodation, I’m happy to take that off your plate. I research all viable options and only book once you’ve given me the green light.
All those years of traveling around the world finally pay off.

Practical Information: Hiring a Wedding Videographer Abroad

Do you have a drone?

Yes, and I love flying it! I always include the drone in my packages. Just know that due to local laws and weather conditions, it’s not always possible to fly the drone.

What if you’re sick on the big day?

I’ve never missed a wedding (knock on wood), but I do have a strong network of trusted videographers who could step in if needed.

If that ever happened, I would still edit the film myself to ensure you receive the same style and quality.

Do you help with planning our elopement?

Many couples ask this. While I’m not an elopement planner, I’m always happy to help with ideas, locations, timelines, and sharing places I’ve discovered while traveling. After exploring more than 45 countries and filming in many different places, I’ve collected quite a few hidden gems along the way.

Since I live on Curaçao, I know the island like the back of my hand and love helping couples discover spots that feel a little more special than the obvious ones. And in the Alps and the Dolomites I feel right at home too. I’ve spent years working closely with a mountain guide, helping organize multi-day hiking trips, so those landscapes are very familiar territory for me.

During my travels I’ve explored Patagonia in Chile, the otherworldly Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia, the charming streets of Mexico and the Andes in Peru. These are some of my top picks for elopement locations.

If you’re dreaming of an elopement surrounded by nature or somewhere a little off the beaten path, I’m always happy to think along with you.

Do we need a videographer for our elopement?

Short answer: no, you don’t NEED one. But honestly, having your elopement captured on video is something you’ll treasure forever. Some memories deserve more than a single frame. The sounds, the movement, the small details that make your day feel alive again, even years later.

When should we book an elopement videographer?

Most couples book their elopement videographer 6–12 months in advance, especially for popular seasons and destinations.

But elopements can also happen quickly. So even if your plans are coming together last minute, feel free to reach out. If I’m available, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.

Can our family and friends be part of the elopement?

Of course! I film elopements with up to 8 guests present. If you’re planning a larger celebration, my intimate wedding page might be a better fit for your plans.

Do you have a different question? Feel free to ask.
