As a destination wedding videographer filming most of my weddings in Italy, I’ve filmed weddings in many beautiful places, but Le Stonghe has something truly special. Perhaps it’s the endless views stretching toward the Adriatic Sea, the feeling of having the entire estate to yourselves, or the fact that your closest friends and family stay together for the entire weekend. Whatever it is, weddings here feel intimate, effortless, and deeply connected.

This May, I had the pleasure of filming the multi-day destination wedding of Jamay & Indra. Surrounded by their closest family members and friends, they created a wedding weekend that perfectly reflected who they are: warm, welcoming, and full of laughter.

Located in the heart of Le Marche, Le Stonghe is a privately owned estate consisting of a beautifully restored 500-year-old palazzo and country house surrounded by olive groves, rolling hills, and panoramic views. The venue accommodates up to 60 overnight guests, making it ideal for couples who want to turn their wedding into a full weekend experience. 

One of the things that makes Le Stonghe particularly attractive for Dutch and Belgian couples is that it is owned and run by a Dutch family who fell in love with the region and transformed the estate into the wedding venue it is today. Best Season to Get Married in Le Marche

The best time to get married in Le Marche is generally from May through September. Personally, I think late spring is one of the most beautiful periods. The temperatures are comfortable, the hills are still lush and green, and the landscape feels vibrant and alive.

Jamay & Indra chose May, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Warm sunny days, comfortable evenings, and a countryside bursting with color.

From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this would be a weekend to remember.

Welcome Cocktail & Pizza Party

The celebrations began with welcome drinks and a pizza party on the evening before the wedding.

Within minutes it became clear that the famous Brabant hospitality had traveled all the way to Italy. The courtyard filled with laughter, drinks were flowing, and strangers quickly became friends. The atmosphere felt more like a reunion than a formal wedding event, setting the tone for everything that followed.

By the end of the night, most of the guests had somehow found their way into the swimming pool.

Ceremony
The ceremony was accompanied by the beautiful sounds of a harp and cello, creating a romantic atmosphere that perfectly matched the surroundings. With only 26 guests present, every face in the audience held genuine meaning. Every smile, every tear, every reaction mattered.

Cocktail Hour & Speeches
Following the ceremony, guests gathered for drinks accompanied by an incredible Italian trio that instantly elevated the atmosphere.

One thing that stood out throughout the afternoon was how openly everyone embraced their emotions. During the speeches, laughter and tears flowed freely. Nobody held back, and that honesty made every moment even more meaningful.

Dinner Under the Italian Sky
Dinner was everything you hope for when getting married in Italy: long tables, incredible food, great wine, and conversations that seemed to continue endlessly.

And the tiramisu? Without exaggeration, it was the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. And trust me, after filming countless weddings in Italy, I’ve had quite a few.

Sunset Portraits
Jamay & Indra were very intentional about being present with their guests. They didn’t want to disappear for an hour during dinner just to chase photos.

So when the sky suddenly exploded into the most incredible sunset, we slipped away for only ten minutes.

Ten minutes.

That’s all we needed.

The result was some of my favorite footage of the entire year. Golden light, dramatic colors, and two people completely present in the moment.

A reminder that you don’t need to sacrifice time with your guests to create beautiful memories.

Party
The party was, quite simply, wild.

The dance floor stayed packed, the energy never dropped, and somehow the celebration continued long after I thought the night was winding down.

In fact, I had already gone inside, changed into my pajamas, and was literally brushing my teeth when I suddenly heard cheering outside.

Naturally, I ran back out with my toothbrush still in my mouth.

Good thing I did.

What followed was a hilarious surprise striptease performance by Jamay for Indra that had everyone laughing uncontrollably. Some moments simply need to be captured, regardless of what you’re wearing.

Yes, I’ll go the extra mile.

Farewell Brunch

The following morning everyone gathered one final time for brunch.

A little tired.

A little emotional.

Very happy.

The Experience: More Than Just a Wedding

What made Jamay & Indra’s wedding so special wasn’t a single moment.

It was the feeling of togetherness that lasted throughout the entire weekend.

With only 26 guests, they had meaningful time with everyone. Nobody felt rushed. Nobody disappeared into a crowd. Every conversation mattered. Every guest became part of the experience.

Because everyone stayed on-site, the wedding never really started or ended. It simply unfolded naturally over three days, creating space for spontaneous moments, deeper connections, and memories that couldn’t have happened during a traditional one-day celebration.
